§ 1Statement of purpose

Entered into the record

Empowering the People Through Legal Knowledge

Remedy at Law was founded by Kirk Beck, a teacher in Riverside, CA. He describes himself plainly: “I am a teacher for over 40 years.” What he teaches now is how an ordinary citizen puts the facts in writing and asks a public official a precise question.

This page says what the organization is for, and just as clearly what it is not. If you read nothing else here, read the ledger in clause 4. It is short, and it will save you a phone call.

§ 2 · In the organization’s own words

Two sentences that say what the work is

“Guided by Kirk Beck, we teach you how to claim your remedy at law through education and action.”
Remedy at Law, on its About page
“Founded by Kirk Beck, our organization serves as a catalyst for change, teaching the practical application of the First Amendment to control government excesses.”

§ 3The mission

The fifth right, taught as a skill

Most people can name speech, religion, the press and assembly. The fifth gets left off the list.

“We focus on the often-overlooked fifth right of the First Amendment: the right to petition. By teaching the affidavit process, we empower you to demand responses from government officials and ensure they are held accountable to their oaths of office.”
The Mission, from the Remedy at Law About page

In practice that means lessons, not slogans. The affidavit process is covered step by step in the Power of Paper course, along with how an oath of office is meant to bind a public official and how positive law differs from common law.

The course, in the organization’s description, “translates complex regulatory terminology into actionable, instructional steps.” Kirk’s job is the translating. Yours is to read, practice and decide for yourself what to do with it.
